A pre-post to the real post
I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. Fortunately we were on a fun vacation for a week and a half, so I have a good excuse, but I've already been back for a couple of days and still haven't felt like I could sit down and blog yet. I've been running tons of errands, and trying to clean up my house (we have some guests coming to stay with us later today) and I have to teach a lesson on Sunday too. I'll have to wait until that's all over and then I won't feel guilty blogging instead of doing all of these other things on my "to do" list. I can't wait to catch up on all of your blogs either! But for now, excuse me while I go fold 3 loads of laundry.

Head over heels- but literally
A week ago today, I was carrying Will in a parking lot when I tripped over one of those cement barricades that are at the front of each parking spot. I caught myself for a couple of seconds, but couldn't get my balance and I totally biffed it. I scraped my ankle, elbow and knee pretty good- but poor Will whom I was carrying got the worse end of the deal, with the back of his head connecting with the asphalt.
The poor guy cried, and I stayed sitting in the parking lot holding him for a minute or two while a couple people came and asked if we were okay. It was pretty embarrassing of course, but I didn't even want to look at my wounds until I got home. I was worried about my poor baby, but luckily he stopped crying and seemed fine after that. He kept telling everyone, "Mommy falled down, and threw me, and I hit my head, and her knee just hurt too."
A few days later I took Xander & Will to one of those places where they have all the blow-up bounce houses and slides. Will was just standing there stationary on the ground when a little girl, running full blast from one toy to another, ran right into him. His head hit the ground before the rest of his body, and this time the cry was much worse and lengthy. I picked him up and tried to talk to him and look in his eyes to see if they were dilated or anything. He was almost going to sleep (or passing out) and I freaked out.
To make a long story short I got ahold of his Dr's office & they told me to bring him there if he wasn't bleeding, vomiting, or hadn't passed out yet. Poor little Will seemed confused and out of it, but of course by the time the Dr. was seeing him he was already playing with a toy again and seeming normal. The Dr. sent us home, labeling it a "mild concussion," and told me to watch him the rest of the day.
After dinner Will started throwing up, and was almost nodding off again, so I called a nurse line. They asked me a bunch of yes/no questions and then told me to take him to the E.R. to get a cat scan.
He ended up being okay, thankfully. During our 5 hours at the E.R. Will threw up all over their floor, refused to let them take his temperature by mouth (thus resulting in them taking it the other way and making him quite MAD), was deathly afraid of the cat scan machine and kept moving, and was quite bored with sitting around waiting. We met quite a few interesting characters along the way. Oh I'm so thankful that he was okay. The combination of the 2 blows to the head in a short period of time must have caused it, but luckily there was no internal bleeding.
