Ho, Ho, Holy cow it's cold in Utah!
The boys made a snowman today.
Xander showed off his catch to me and Will. It was just a little fish, but you wouldn't believe how proud he was.
We've been getting together with many of my old friends, and some cousins for lunches and playdates. It's been so nice to catch up with everyone, and see how their families are growing!
I guess Will got tired toward the end. Either that or he fell down and couldn't move in his snowsuit :)
Of course the time that we decide to come and visit, is the time that Utah is having record cold temperatures. They said that it's about 20 degrees colder than normal! I mean lows of -4, -2, 0, 1, 2 and 3 degrees are not my thing. And highs in the (at most) 20's, aren't either.
I can't believe how filthy our cars have been getting in the nasty, muddy, salty roads here. One day I literally couldn't see out of my windshield on the freeway, and I tried to use my windshield wiper fluid, to find I was out- or it was frozen. I made it home luckily, but I had Blair check it out and in both cars this is what he found:
THE FLUID FROZEN SOLID!
Blair tried to fill up the remainder of the tank with the de-icer fluid that's good to -20, but it hasn't thawed it out, and it's still frozen days later! Geez we didn't even think to put the special window washing fluid for the winter in our cars since we live in Vegas where it stays warm year round.
A couple of weeks ago when we got here, it was a tad warmer, & my dad took Xander fishing to a local pond. I thought it had to be ice fishing, but no- I guess it wasn't. Xander has been asking to go fishing for months! Here they were right before they went:

After that was when it started to get colder, so I've been trying to stick to indoor activities as much as possible ever since. It's been so fun spending time with the grandparents and our siblings that are close by.
Will has been helping my mom cook every chance he gets. She's much more patient than I am :)
We went to the Festival of Trees. Here was a Grinch themed tree that the boys liked.

A few days ago we went to my cousin Erica's house and made gingerbread houses. My kids ate more candy than made it onto their houses I think :)
Here are the kids with their finished products.
and, Erica and I with ours... Cinnamon Toast Crunch shingles and all. It's so nice to see some family up here! Er and I are the closest in age & used to hang out at practically monthly family parties all growing up. I really took it for granted living so close, and being so close with my extended family until we're out of state now.
P.S. I know the writing on this post doesn't match up to where it should be exactly right, but I can't figure out how to do my blog on my mom's computer, so I just gave up! Adios from Utah :)

The month that flew by
I've been a blog slacker lately (in looking at all of your blogs, and updating my own). I've just been really busy, I guess. But here's a few fun things that we did the last few weeks:
SOCCER
Xander had his last soccer game a couple of weeks ago, and his team won for a nice finish.
He was quite proud of his trophies that he got.
We met his team at a bowling alley for pizza and bowling.
Blair got over 100 for the first time he claims (and I barely got there phew!)
NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
We went to the Natural History museum for the 1st time since we've lived here. The boys loved it.
Psychedelic scorpion under the black light.
Xander & Will checking out an aquarium from the inside.
HIKING WITH DAD
The boys went to the old railroad tunnel trail down by Lake Mead to hike around.
Climbing on the rocks.

Fun fun fun!
We got to go up to UT last weekend and see our family, because my little sister got married! Here's the whole family:
The siblings: Ben, Wend, Me, Ria, Kristin, Dan.
U2
This weekend, our highlight was last night when Blair and I got to go to a U2 concert! I have always wanted to go to one, and it was AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. It's been sold out ever since the 1st day that it went on sale, but the night before last, they released a bunch of tickets they still had- so I jumped on it! The stadium is less than a mile from our house, so we just walked over.

Happy us- but crappy camera phone.

No zooming in with the crappy camera phone either.

There's Bono!

That same screen that was up top & showed close-ups of people on stage, divided up and did this cool thing towards the end.

Great concert!

The Terrible 3's
Will rarely takes a nap anymore.

Will seems to like destroying deodorant- because in this one he took the top part of mine, and crumbled it all over the carpet. Oh, and those black lines all over were artwork done with my mascara. Who knows what he had planned with my blowdryer. I'm glad he couldn't reach the plug.

They got back early enough for Xander to still make it to his soccer game. His team won today! (first win for them, so we were excited)

Every once in a while I put him in his room to try for one. Without fail, he sneaks out of his room and finds something to get into upstairs. During this week's nap, he snuck out and found the haircutting box, and cut some of his hair off:
And Blair said that there was a bite taken out of his deodorant... which doesn't surprise me too much, because these next 2 pictures were from a couple of weeks before, during another nap attempt.

The picasso continued all over the cupboards too. Isn't this naughty stuff supposed to get out of their system when they're 2 years old?
The boys went to the father and sons campout last night with the ward. It was a great night for the kids and me, for sure! Blair survived :)
Here's Xander lounging after the game.

3
Will turned 3 this week.
Check out the smoke, after blowing out the candles..
Stuffing his face, with the grandmas' presents on either side of him.
Will also started preschool this week, now that he's a big boy :)
He was so excited to go to school like Xander.
