1 month

...a couple inches longer, and a few pounds bigger (but she's still little). I can't believe it's the end of the month already!

She's here!

Claire Diane Curtis was born Saturday morning 5/22/10, 2:10 am

Weighing 6 lbs even, and 18 inches long

My water broke at 12:50 am, we got our bags together and dropped the boys off at a neighbor's 20 min later, then drove to the hospital which was another 20 minutes. Blair wheeled me around half of the hospital, since one door was open at night, and to the vacant desk in the maternity ward. We said, "hello?" and he told the voice from the back that I was in labor, but they weren't in any hurry.

They told us to sign in, and fill out a paper (I had already pre-registered so that was annoying) and they'd be there in a minute. At this point it was 1:36, because I had to put the time. Finally when the nurse came, she said Blair couldn't come back and she'd have to take my weight and vitals and ask me some questions first. When she said questions, I didn't know it was going to be like 100 questions, and the whole time I was DYING. She just told me everything had to be in a certain order, and she couldn't check me until she did all that.

Well, let's just say by the time she got around to it, I was complete, and ready to kill her. They were rushing me to the delivery room where everyone was scrambling and I was about to experience a natural birth with no epidural. Grrrrrrrr. Thank goodness it wasn't any longer (it felt like an eternity). At least we have a healthy cute little baby to show for it. I'm so glad I can look back on that, and don't have to do it again anytime soon.

On her way home from the hospital:

The boys can't get enough. They constantly want to hold her. Every once in a while she makes a noise and Xander will say, "Oh I forgot we have Claire!" Whenever she lets out a cry the boys start giggling. I asked them why they laugh when she's crying, and they say it's because she sounds so cute.

We love her!

April: CA, UT, AZ, & here

Before Easter we dropped the kids off with the grandmas and went up to explore Northern CA.

We wanted to see all the areas between Sacramento and San Fran, because there is an Air Force base that we thought we might want to try to do residency at there. I loved everything about it! Unfortunately Blair is thinking of going into something else now, and Northern Cali probably wouldn't be an option for that one. Grrrr Blair.

We went on a little harbor cruise in San Fran, and went past Alcatraz:

We went to a museum called the Exploratorium because our annual pass to the Children's Museum in NV got us in for free there. It was weird being there without the kids.

I ate roast goose for the 1st time at a restaurant that we went to in China town. Here they were in the window:

Yep, you read that right, "Soy Sauce Pigeon, and Deep Fried Pigeon." Or how about from the menu below, "Pork Liver Porridge, Pork Blood Porridge, Assorted Pork Guts Porridge, Pork Stomach Porridge?" Do any of those sound appetizing to you??? I thought I'd stick to the goose.

We made it back to UT in time for Easter weekend, and the boys told me that they didn't miss us a bit.

Blair's grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago, so we went to AZ mid-April for her funeral.

On a happier note, some girls in my ward had a shower for me the other day, and I got hooked up!

I changed the bedding in the crib over from boy to girl, and loaded up my presents. I guess I'm ready now!

It's been nice weather here, so the thing we do most days is get the boys to their schools, then Xander bugs me the rest of the day to go on a bike ride later. Xander has mastered 2 wheels, and he loves it!
