Mother's Day

Poor Xander was sick last night with the flu.  Will had it on Friday, and I was hoping that he would get over it quickly without passing it on.  It is so frustrating to see your child suffering.  The poor little guy couldn't understand why he was throwing up and why he couldn't control his bowels.  It made me so sad.  Don't get me wrong- I hope I don't get it, but if I could trade him I would. Stay far far away from us- this one's contagious!

You know you're a mother when....

You count the sprinkles on each kid's cupcake to make sure they're equal.

2. You find yourself cutting your husbands' sandwiches into cute shapes.

3. You can't bear to give away baby clothes - it's so final.

4. You hear your mother's voice coming out of your mouth when you say, "NOT in your good clothes!"

5. You stop criticizing the way your mother raised you.

6. You hire a sitter because you have't been out with your husband in ages, then spend half of the night checking on your kids.

7. You say at least once a day, "I'm not cut out for this job", but you know you wouldn't trade it for anything.

Mother...

You filled my days with rainbow lights,

Fairy tales and sweet dream nights,

A kiss to wipe away my tears,

Gingerbread to ease my fears.

You gave the gift of life to me,

And then in love you set me free.

I thank you for your tender care,

For deep warm hugs and being there.

I hope that when you think of me,

A part of you you'll always see...
