Happy Birthday week

Blair and I share a birthday week, so we make the most of it and celebrate all days in between too!  His birthday was at the beginning of the week, and mine is in a couple of days still.  We have had lots of last minute visitors this week to keep us busy, which has been fun (Blair's brother & wife & friends, and my brother & his friend).  I guess that happens sometimes when you live here and it's spring break season.

We decided to go see some Vegas shows for our birthdays.  We went & saw Mystere on the weekend, and then Blue Man Group a couple of days ago.  They would be hard for me to describe, so I found some photos and descriptions online:

"Mystere is a vibrant kaleidoscope of powerful athleticism, high energy acrobatics, and inspiring imagery"

I loved loved loved Mystere.  It was so good.

"Blue Man Group combines sight gags, physical stunts, and audience participation, with members of the front rows given plastic rain ponchos as protection from the hail of paint, food, and other assorted projectiles launched from the stage."

Yep- totally random, but fun to watch.  Thanks to those that watched the kids while we went to the shows!  We joined "house seats" which is a club where you pay an annual membership and then can get free tickets to last minute shows that aren't filled here in Vegas. That's how we got the Blue Man tickets.  We're way happy with it so far!

Here are the birthday cards we've gotten this week :)  It's nice to be remembered, thanks!

Now we're off to a birthday dinner that a friend is making for us.  We're so spoiled this year!

ABC's

I recorded this a few weeks back, and thought Will's recent rendition of the ABC song was blog worthy.

There hasn't been too much new around here.  I've been trying to get Will potty trained, and sleep in his "big boy" bed all at once.  The potty training isn't going so smoothly, but he's been sleeping just fine in the toddler bed.  The 1st few nights I heard a lot of playing instead of sleeping going on in his room.  He tried to come out a few times, as suspected, and he ended up back his crib.  A few days into it I went in his room to check on him after a while, and this is what I found.  He was asleep, but he had taken off his pajamas, and had a step-stool and other items, in bed with him:

The weather has been really nice this week, and we went to the park 2 days in a row.  Yesterday Xander drew pictures of Blair and me with some sidewalk chalk.

Disney World

We went to Disney World for the 1st time!
The boys and I met Blair's parents out in Florida 4 days before Blair could join us for another few days (after finishing a test week)

Some pretty Mickey flowers:

We stayed with Blair's parents at a nice resort for the 1st part of the vacation.  The 2nd part we switched over to a resort at Disneyworld.

The boys got spoiled and got to do all of the fun things they wanted to do there, like go swimming, ride on this 4 wheel bicycle, and go fishing with grandpa.

We went to SeaWorld one day:

The picture above was the dolphin show, and it was so good!  One thing I noticed that was different than the CA one, was that they had an alligator exhibit.

I was so glad when Blair joined our vacation.  We even got to go on an evening date to the parks while the kids played with grandma and grandpa.

Here's the castle at night.

Everyone in our group loved the fireworks at Magic kingdom.

We were so excited when Xander got picked out of the crowd for Jedi training.  He's the one front right of the Jedi instructor:

Here was the grand entrance of Darth Vader:

Here's a picture of Xander fighting Darth Vader.  We're glad that Xander survived :)

Here the boys were dancing during a Pixar parade at Hollywood Studios.

Here's a group shot.  We are so lucky that Blair's parents made this trip possible.  It was so much fun!

Mickey ice cream bars were the boys' favorite treat.

Their favorite things at the airport on the way home.  Xander has his lightsaber, cowboy boots, blanket, and stuffed lamb.  Will with his blanket, and new favorite stuffed penguin from SeaWorld.
